Who is DAVĒ
DAVĒ, Born David S. Johnson is an American R&B Singer from Cleveland, Ohio. He is the youngest of 3, by parents David W. Johnson and Beverly A. Johnson, born on November 16th. He was raised on the east side of Cleveland, between Cleveland Heights, with his mother and the superior area, with his father and grandmother. Both his mother and father were musically talented as they both loved to sing. As a child DAVĒ was a member of every choir the church had, definitely not by choice. He eventually begged his mother to free him of his choir duties and she obliged, paving the way for his 20+ year, journey of basketball. He went on to play division II basketball at Slippery Rock University, and a small stint of semi-pro basketball before starting his professional work career.
Shortly after graduating college with a degree in finance, DAVĒ found his way back to music by writing hooks for his friend who had rap aspirations. Little did he know that would be the spark that spawned his pursuit of a professional music career as an artist. DAVĒ spent 12yrs writing and practicing in private. Sometimes even performing in private on the opposite side of town so he would not be recognized. His breakout moment came in 2017 when he performed his very first single "Meant For Me" in Dubai at his friend's wedding. Prior to that performance he had no stage name nor social media. However, he hasn't looked back since unless its to draw inspiration for future tasks and challenges.
DAVĒ has went on to release 5 digital projects, 4 singles, 1 Ep, and 2 videos. He is currently preparing the release of his highly anticipated solo album titled: "FREEDOM PAPERS". DAVĒ's motivation is becoming free to thrive in his dream of music and his 12yr old son Davon aka Big. While diligently working at his craft he has also launched a clothing line partnership with Royalty Clothing CEO, Steven Anthony called "The Freedom Papers Collection". He is also a radio host personality on 95.9FM WOVU, where he shares the stage with the Late Great BB King's granddaughter Val B. King.
